Ramsbottom & Edenfield Team Ministry

From the Archbishop of Canterbury

I’m delighted and honoured to share the Liturgy for the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III.
As we continue to pray for The King and The Queen Consort, I pray all who read this Liturgy will be inspired by its central theme: the call of God to live our lives in loving service to others.
The theme of this Coronation Liturgy is “Called to Serve” – reflecting the commitment that His Majesty will make to serve God and the people, and the decades of public service of The King and The Queen.
Set within Holy Communion, the Coronation is an act of Christian worship that reminds us our God is the Servant King. When the service ends, the newly anointed and crowned King and Queen are sent out into the world by God to love and serve others.
This Coronation Liturgy celebrates the traditions of over 1000 years. It also features newly written and revised texts and other elements, and the active participation of people of all ages and many faiths and backgrounds – to reflect our nation today and look forward with hope.
