Fourth Generation…

Meet three beautiful members of St Philip’s congregation. Wonderful to realise that they are the fourth generation of their family to be part of the St Philip’s family…No matter what your age, all are very welcome to join them on a Sunday….

Sunday ‘fun time’

For a church to grow, you need to have new shoots…well St Paul’s are certainly raising some active new shoots, thanks to Janice Butterworth who is currently running our Sunday School. As it is almost the end of the summer holidays, and the children although on holiday from school, have still been coming on a Sunday, Janice decided to make this week…

St Philip’s reflects…

Today we observed St. Bartholomew’s Day. He is traditionally paired with St. Philip as he most certainly is in our beautiful East Window. Saint Bartholomew was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ who was martyred in the 1st century AD.

Theft in the Team Churches

A few months ago, Reverend Wood was awoken by a phone call from the police advising her that lead had been stolen from the porch of St Andrew’s Church. Fortunately, the thieves were disturbed before they could cause too much damage, and the porch has now been repaired. Yesterday, thieves were again on the prowl, and managed to steal some large stone…

#Do you know Him??

Although, #do you know him? is not as active for the moment as it was earlier in the year, it is nice to see that the friendships that developed with the churches in Ramsbottom, is still growing. Saturday mornings see small groups of people going out on to the streets talking, and praying with people in our community. “God is good”.

St Paul’s Sunday School

“Who cut up mallows by the bushes” Job 30:4 St Paul’s Sunday school were learning about “Moses and the burning bush”. It’s amazing how you can adapt story’s from the Bible to reach today’s children. The story was understood and taken to heart, and the marshmallows very much appreciated by all.

Edenfield Concert- Lychgate Appeal

Superb concert by Marika and friends on Saturday night, at Edenfield Parish church. Wonderful to listen to friends “old and new” entertaining us; with more than a few tears shed. The music was beautiful, and showed the talent that shines from Edenfield. The Lychgate appeal is close to our hearts and hopefully will have raised lots of money towards the much needed…
