The Bears

We all try to do our best, but sometimes things occur which can change everything. These last few months are a case in point. The distressing outbreak of the Coronavirus has made us all evaluate who, and what is important to us and our wellbeing.                                                                                                                            One of the mum’s from St Paul’s, Caroline Price, has definitely done that. Being at home with her two children, she came up with the idea of turning their front garden into a scene featuring a teddy called Bear, and his rabbit friend called Thumper. This has now become a daily occurrence for over 70 days, (which began with a Teddy Bears picnic) and has been her way of making lockdown more Bearable for neighbours on their daily walks, who like to see what they are doing each day, and leave with a smile on their faces.                                   So far the bears have enjoyed baking, reading stories, playing cricket and football, getting married and taking part in other activities humans couldn’t do at the moment, such as a weekend Music Bearstival and Chocolate Bearstival.                                                                                                                                              One activity which involved Bearis Johnson even reached the ears of the local MP.                                               Caroline has helped raise morale with something positive, and enchanted the children around the area, who have even left letters for the Bears                                                                                                                         St Paul’s are proud of you Mrs Price.
