The World Health Organization (WHO) has designated the year 2020 as the “Year of the Nurse and midwife”, in honour of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale.
Nurses and midwives make up the largest numbers of the NHS workforce, and we certainly appreciate the care and commitment that they have shown during this pandemic, as well as the impact they have made on the lives of so many.
No two days are the same, and their ability to multi task is something we should all give thanks for.
One of our own is Melanie Kay from Edenfield Parish Church, and we certainly give thanks for her and others in our Team of Churches, together with her colleagues in the NHS.
2020 is certainly a year our nurses wont forget..
