With four churches to cover, our Clergy are incredibly busy, and having a retired Vicar worshipping at one of our churches, especially one who has kindly helped us out more times than we can count, is definitely a blessing.
Meet Ian; he worked in financial administration for many years in both the business and charity sector,before training for Ordination in the 1990’s. Ordained in 1997/8 he served in parishes in Higher Blackley and Burnage in the Manchester Diocese. After retiring and moving to Heywood in 2016, both Ian and his wife Jane started worshipping at St Andrew’s. Not only does he help out within RETM, but also at some of the Heywood Parishes. He enjoys the great outdoors, whenever he has the chance, caravanning, hill-walking, photography, keeping fit, family get-togethers, drinking coffee and supporting Manchester United!
